The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) raided Montreal police headquarters on Saint-Urbain Street and Station 38 in Plateau-Mount-Royal Thursday evening.
The SQ’s anti-corruption squad carried out the warrant around 6 p.m.

According to a report from TVA, high-ranking officer, Imad Sawaya, chief of cabinet of elected officials, is being investigated for alleged claims of extra overtime and unwarranted expenses.
“There was an allegation on one of my high-ranking officers, they were going to investigate locations in Montreal, including our headquarters,” said Montreal police chief Philippe Pichet.
“They searched two different floors, human resources on the third floor and the seventh floor, which operational planning division, [They also searched] Station 38 and our archives.”
Pichet said the Montreal police force is fully co-operating with the investigation. He met with his officers Thursday night to discuss the force’s next steps.
Montreal police announced the indefinite suspension of one of Pichet’s officers via Twitter Friday morning.
