The Local 110 chapter of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) is organizing a rally, as silence continues between the College Employer Council and the union representing striking faculty.
Local 110 President Darryl Bedford announced the demonstration on the Craig Needles Show this morning, and told AM980 they want to get back to bargaining.
“We’re happy to talk about any of the issues, and see if we can get a resolution,” he said.
“A signed agreement is always much better, because you know you’ve negotiated — you know what’s in it.”
In binding arbitration, Bedford says you can “never be certain” what the arbitrator is going to do.
OPSEU Local 110 members will be downtown Tuesday in front of Fanshawe College’s Centre for Digital and Performing Arts, across from the old Kingsmill’s building, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There are also rallies scheduled in Toronto on Wednesday, and in Windsor and Sarnia on Friday.
Across Ontario, more than 12,000 professors, instructors, counsellors and librarians have been walking the picket line for eight days.
