Police attended the area of Timber Drive, set up a perimeter, and closed down nearby streets for roughly an hour as the area was checked and police searched the home. No one in the neighbourhood had any knowledge of the call and no one reported seeing a man with a gun, police said.

More calls from the same phone number were made to police after the incident and the investigation has since revealed those calls were placed by people in South Africa who know the homeowner.

Mischief charges are pending against a 53-year-old man and 16-year-old male.
