A shocking verbal tirade against a Vancouver police officer that was posted online Tuesday is now making the rounds on social media.

People who are watching it are praising the actions of the police officer.

In the video, the officer is attempting to question the driver of a car about a hit-and-run.

The driver hurls insults at the officer, calling him a “fat piece of s***,” saying “we’re the victim you motherf*****,” and “do your job.” The officer maintains a calm demeanour throughout.

Reaction has been swift in favour of the officer who people are commending for showing extreme patience.

“We’re thankful that we have the professional officers that we have, we’re proud of them,” said Vancouver police spokesperson Const. Jason Doucette. “We’re asking if you do find yourself speaking inappropriately with an officer and something clicks with you, pause, take a deep breath be patient.

“We’re more than willing to help and work with you.”
