A teenager is in custody in connection with the death of a 69-year-old man in Prince Rupert.
Police say on Oct. 18 at approximately 1:52 a.m. they were called to a report of a stabbing at a home in the 400-block of 9 Avenue West.
When officers arrived, they found two people suffering from serious injuries. Despite receiving medical attention, the man died of his injuries, while the 69-year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The 17-year-old is now in police custody.
RCMP officers are currently on scene and additional resources from the Major Crime Unit in Prince George will be going to Prince Rupert to assist with the investigation.
Police say there is no risk to the public at this time.
