Fire in northwest Calgary forces family from home

Fire crews were called to reports of a house fire in the community of Springbank at around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Three stations were involved in fighting the flames at the home on Meadow Lark Lane.

Officials said the fire started in the garage before spreading through the home and the roof.

The fire forced a family from their home but no one was injured.

The Red Cross was also at the scene and is providing resources for the family.

Investigators said the next step is trying to find out what sparked the flames.
