Rene Paredes kicked a 17-yard field goal with no time left to give the Calgary Stampeders a 28-25 win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Friday.

Paredes’ field goal was set up by a pass interference call on Hamilton’s Courtney Stephen. The 62-yard penalty put Calgary at the Ti-Cats’ 10-yard line.

“Hamilton is really a team to be reckoned with. They’re playing well, they got a lot of faith in what they do and they took us from the limit,” head coach Dave Dickenson said, adding it was a tough game and he felt it would be.

The Stampeders improved to 16-0 coming off the bye and earned their 11th straight victory. The Stamps will earn top spot in the West Division and will host the conference final if the B.C. Lions beat the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Saturday.

Next up, the Stampeders host the Roughriders Friday, Oct. 20 with kick off at 7 p.m.
