Winnipeg woman beaten at bus stop Saturday, police searching for teen suspects

Winnipeg police are looking for two teenaged girls following a reported assault at a bus stop on the weekend.

The police service was contacted by Winnipeg Transit at about 2:30 p.m. Saturday after a woman who had boarded the bus said she had been attacked while waiting.

The woman said she was at a bus stop near McGregor Street and Jefferson Avenue when she was approached by two women. One of the strangers forced her to the ground where she hit her head. The two then kicked her several times, stole her phone and money and took off.

Police are looking for two girls in their late teens. Both are reported to be about 5’1”. One had a small build with reddish-brown hair. The other had a larger build and long dark hair.

The victim was taken to hospital in stable condition.
