A kickoff event was held Thursday morning on Ironwood Road in Byron at one of two dream homes.

“This beautiful home has a big impact for our three hospitals,” St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation board of directors chair Tania Testa told AM980.

“It means 1.5-million patient visits for people across southwestern Ontario — that’s the region, not just London.”

Members of the London Lightning team and organization were on hand for the launch of the fall edition of the Dream Lottery on Oct. 5, 2017. AM980

The Byron home includes its own London Lightning-themed indoor basketball court and a view of Boler Mountain while the second dream home near the Highland Country Club boasts soaring ceilings. The grand prize winner will choose between the Byron home, the Highland Country Club home, or $1 million in cash.

Scott Fortnam is the president and CEO of the Children’s Health Foundation and added that the lottery has a huge impact.

“It’s another vehicle to raise money, to support our cause — to support the Children’s Hospital in our case — the programs we fund there, the equipment that we help to purchase there and all of these things that make a huge difference to kids, to families, and their health-care journey that they’re going through.”

The 50/50 draw with a minimum payout of $250,000 and no maximum is also back. Even more prizes will be available through a Money and Memories Calendar lottery.
