Winnipeg man robbed at gunpoint, vehicle stolen Wednesday

Winnipeg police are on the lookout for a suspect following a carjacking near the University of Manitoba Wednesday evening.

The incident happened in the 100 block of Bayridge Avenue. The male victim told police that while sitting in his car, a man with a gun confronted him, hit him in the head with the weapon, stole his keys and wallet and then drove away in the car.

Police are searching for the vehicle, a white 2016 Nissan Rogue with a vertical scratch on the back door, licence plate HBG 521.

Anyone who has seen the car or has any information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
