Celine Dion was brought to tears on stage in Las Vegas Tuesday night, sharing an emotional speech with her audience that paid tribute to the victims of the horrific Route 91 Music Festival attack.

“I hope you are okay,” Dion, 49, told the audience. “I need to talk to you for a moment… I never start the show like this, but tonight is very different,” she continued.

The Canadian-born singer says she questioned stepping onto the stage only two days after the “nightmare,” but as many of her fans know, for Dion, the show must go on.

She also shared that all the proceeds from Tuesday night’s show would be going directly to the families of those affected by the horrific attack, on behalf of the audience.

“On Sunday we lost too many beautiful, innocent souls and many are still suffering, but tonight we’re going to let those families know that we… are supporting them and we will help them through their tragic loss,” Dion told the crowd.

Adding, “We dedicate tonight’s show to all of the victims and the families, and to the first responders, and to the doctors and nurses who are working around the clock to save lives and to so many heroes who did whatever they could to help complete strangers in a time of desperate need.”

The generous gesture was accompanied by #VegasStrong signs on the big screens. Dion also later referenced the tragedy, telling concertgoers that the victims were looking down on them from above.
