“I hope you are okay,” Dion, 49, told the audience. “I need to talk to you for a moment… I never start the show like this, but tonight is very different,” she continued.
She also shared that all the proceeds from Tuesday night’s show would be going directly to the families of those affected by the horrific attack, on behalf of the audience.
“On Sunday we lost too many beautiful, innocent souls and many are still suffering, but tonight we’re going to let those families know that we… are supporting them and we will help them through their tragic loss,” Dion told the crowd.
Adding, “We dedicate tonight’s show to all of the victims and the families, and to the first responders, and to the doctors and nurses who are working around the clock to save lives and to so many heroes who did whatever they could to help complete strangers in a time of desperate need.”
The generous gesture was accompanied by #VegasStrong signs on the big screens. Dion also later referenced the tragedy, telling concertgoers that the victims were looking down on them from above.
Dion shared her condolences and prayers on social media following news of the attack.
