A man from One Arrow First Nation has been fined and forfeited his rifle after pleading guilty to moose poaching in Saskatchewan.
The pregnant moose was found on private land near Alvena, approximately 60 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon, in April after conservation officers received a TIP (Turn in Poachers) call.

Conservation officers found the cow moose with a dead calf lying beside her. Only the hind quarters had been removed.
Officers said the vehicle used by those responsible for shooting the moose had been driven into the field and became stuck.
Landowners in the area were able to give officers a description of a green car seen in the area and people who helped get the car out of the field.
Officers then searched a residence and collected evidence from the trunk of a car.
Glen Paintednose, 47, pleaded guilty to unlawful hunting and waste of edible game.
He was fined $4,998 in provincial court and ordered to forfeit his rifle.
