Package found at Calgary airport deemed not suspicious after causing disruptions

Calgary police say a package that shut down the departures level roadways at YYC Calgary International Airport Monday night has been deemed not suspicious.

The package was spotted on the roadway at around 5:10 p.m. on the departures level outside the airport, according to police.

Police had closed the road to the departures level as of 6 p.m. but it was reopened by 6:20 p.m.

The tactical team and hazardous materials crews were called to the scene to investigate.
