Regina police arrested two people after they evaded a police check stop on Tuesday afternoon.

Police attempted to flag down a truck on the 100 block of McIntosh Street, but the truck evaded police. A short time later it was reported that truck was seen driving through red lights and finally abandoned by two people. The truck was found in the alley on the 100 block of Aberdeen Street.

Police found the occupants of the truck a short time later and arrested them. Once police searched the passengers, they found knives, a machete, and a quantity of meth.

Twenty-seven-year-old Allyson Kristina Bachiu and 30-year-old Rodney Duane Roy Desnomie, both from Regina, are now facing various charges.

Both Bachiu and Desnomie made their first court appearance on Wednesday morning.
