TransLink warns of traffic delays on Commercial-Broadway due to construction

TransLink’s warning all commuters to expect some craziness and traffic delays around the Commercial-Broadway Station for the rest of the month as it works on a new overhead walkway.

TransLink says the new walkway will cause heavy traffic, lane closures, as well as bus detour routes.

“We’re moving the number 9 and 99 B-line bus stops across the street on Commercial for the westbound passengers,” said spokesperson Chris Bryan.

He said commuters should also expect some SkyTrain delays closer to the end of the month.

“On September 30, there will be some single tracking for SkyTrain to accommodate the project so there will be some major delays to SkyTrain as well,” said Bryan.

“And at the end of the month from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1, we’re actually going to have to shut down Broadway altogether.”

TransLink says there will be signs and staff on site to help direct passengers while the work is being done.
