Halifax Police investigating suspicious death of 20-year-old man in Clayton Park

Halifax Regional Police are investigating the suspicious death of a 20-year-old man in Clayton Park.

Police said they were sent to 36 Montgomery Ct. at approximately 1:40 a.m. for a “suspicious circumstances call.”

The man was located inside the apartment building requiring immediate medical help. He was taken to hospital by EHS and later died.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending next of kin notification.

“We do have two people in custody — a man and a woman. They are currently being questioned,” spokesperson Cindy Bayers said, adding that an autopsy was underway.

A neighbour, who did not want to be identified, told Global News that she heard a bang, like a door being smashed, at about 1:30 a.m. before police arrived.

Members of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division and Forensic Identification officers are continuing to process the scene.
