Peterborough police searching for hit-and-run suspect

Peterborough police are searching for a hit-and-run suspect that took place Friday afternoon around 4 p.m. at Bethune Street and Charlotte Street.

According to police, a female pedestrian was crossing the north side of the intersection, heading eastbound, and was hit by a vehicle travelling southbound on Bethune Street. The vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign, hitting the pedestrian and knocking her to the ground.

The silver sedan, believed to be driven by an older white female, continued westbound on Charlotte Street.

Police were not able to provide an update on the pedestrian’s condition.
