Two student workers, a male and female, on a construction site at the Mount Community Centre were injured Wednesday around 4:15 p.m.
The students are from The Endeavour Centre in Peterborough and instructors said that a panel from a building slipped onto two construction workers brushing one and pinning the other.
Both have been taken to hospital.

“We run a really safe work site, we comply with all health and safety standards,” said Jen Feigin, an instructor from Endeavour Centre. “We, like I said, we’ve never had an accident since 2005, we’re very cautious, we make sure our students are safe, our students make sure their colleagues are safe, and ya, so I’m not sure exactly what happened and we’ll have more information once we all discuss stuff.”
The group had just finished building a prefabricated green house that has zero carbon footprint, zero toxins and zero net energy use. The students and instructors were putting the last panel onto a truck to be brought back to Toronto for display when the injury happened.

Witnesses say they are not exactly sure what happened but the injured workers have been in communication with their colleagues and appear not to have suffered serious injuries.
