Saying the fun seems to have gone out of local politics, a long time Town of Oliver councillor is packing it in.
Jack Bennest’s resignation takes effect September 30th.
“It has been a good run of almost 17 years and it is time to re-center as age is taking its toll,” said Bennest in a news release.
The Oliver mayor praises Bennest for helping the town grow in many positive directions.
“We honestly appreciate the service he has given to our community,” said Ron Hovanes. “His knowledge over the last 17 years has been a great asset as decisions were made around this table.”
A date for a by-election has not been set.
