Peterborough’s Brad Fulsang will coach the Canadian archery team at the Invictus Games in Toronto later this month.
Fulsang, 24, is a competitive archer himself. He is part of the Canadian National Training Squad.

He was asked to be the Team Canada coach back in January.
“I had an email from Archery Canada, asking me if I would be interested in coaching the Invictus Games team for Canada,” said Fulsang. “Knowing what it was and the opportunity, I couldn’t say no.”
Fulsang has already worked with the athletes that will be competing on his team.
“Through the year, we’ve had two week-long training camps. I’ve worked with them for two weeks in-person,” said Fulsang, “It’s been a little challenging. Archery is a personal sport. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. But it’s coming together.”
Fulsang hopes the Invictus Games will help grow the sport.
“We’re doing this more as a post-games kind of thing. We’re hoping the athletes stick with the sport, competitive or as a hobby.”

The Invictus Games are Olympic-style games, in which wounded, injured or sick armed services personnel and their associated veterans compete.
The Games run from September 23rd to the 30th.
