Police investigate Friday night shooting in Stoney Creek

Police are investigating a second shooting in Hamilton this weekend.

Officers were called to Palacebeach Trail in Stoney Creek at about 10 p.m. on Friday.

A 29-year-old man who had been shot in the torso and leg was treated at the scene and was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the victim had approached the passenger side of a silver or grey car when he was shot.

The vehicle and its occupants fled westbound on the North Service Road before police arrived on the scene.

Police say the shooting doesn’t appear to be a random act and currently doesn’t appear to be connected to recent similar incidents.
