WATCH: Highlights from Global Calgary's On the Road show at The Military Museums.

Global Calgary is taking our show on the road to The Military Museums (TMM) of Calgary on Thursday, Sept. 14.

It is a one-stop destination that gives you a good sense of what it was like to be a Canadian soldier over the past 200 years.

Watch as Scott Fee, Linda Olsen and the Global News team broadcast live from a place where you can step back in time and see history come alive; a place where you can learn more about the famous battles that defined Canada’s place in military history.

Join us as we explore the TMM’s eight museums and galleries. Take a drive along Crowchild Trail S.W. and you have likely seen the fighter jet and tank on the museum grounds.

WATCH: Global Calgary is broadcasting live from The Military Museums (TMM) of Calgary on Thursday. Doug Vaessen has details.

However, many Calgarians have yet to step inside the TMM to discover what else it has to offer. We will investigate the story behind those iconic displays and others.

We’ll find out more about the role of Alberta soldiers in the Victory at Hill 70, one of our military’s lesser known battles. It is run by The Military Museums Foundation, a non-profit group that wants to make sure children in Calgary keep our military history alive.

You will also hear more about how you can support the Museums through an Oct. 20 Centennial Gala, commemorating Canadian courage and sacrifice while raising money for a battlefield tour and field trips for children. Click here to read more about the gala, including ticket information.
