A decision has been made about what to do with the many items donated to the Asquith, Sask., hockey rink after its Gordie Howe jersey was stolen.
Last January, thieves took off with the Detroit Red Wings sweater autographed by the NHL legend, leaving community members both heartbroken and without anything to raffle off.
News of the theft spread and the small town was showered with support and donations from across the country.
Officials with the Asquith Centennial Sports Center tossed around some ideas and decided to put the donated jerseys and other memorabilia up for auction.
