Fourth person pronounced dead in Bruce Peninsula Hwy. 6 crash

A fourth person has died following a head-on crash late last month along Hwy. 6 in North Bruce Peninsula, Bruce OPP said Tuesday.

The Aug. 26 crash occurred around 8 p.m. when a Dodge Charger driving erratically collided head-on with an SUV on the highway in the community of Miller Lake, south of Tobermory, police said.

The driver of the Charger, Jim Thomas Johny, 31, of Mississauga, and the driver of the SUV, Traves Stephen Atchison, 22, of Bosanquet Township, Lambton Shores, were killed in the crash, as was a passenger in the SUV, identified as Jana Watson, 23, of Strathroy.

Four passengers in the Charger were hospitalized. One, identified as Ravinder Kalsi, 39, of Brampton, was airlifted to hospital in critical condition.

On Tuesday, police said investigators had learned that Kalsi had succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

The three other passengers in the Charger who were hospitalized have been identified as Shovani Pathak, 42, and Sheena Varma, 31, both of Brampton, and Arun Sadana, 24, of Mississauga. It’s not clear what their current conditions are.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and police said they urge anyone with information to contact them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
