Saskatoon police have a man in custody following a standoff.
Police said it started Monday just before 6:30 a.m. CT, when officers made a traffic stop in the 1700-block of 11th Street West.

Officers said while they were dealing with the driver, they noticed a man wanted for escaping custody in the doorway of a nearby home.
He was also wanted on possession of illegal cigarette charges.
Officers said they approached the man to try and speak with him, but he refused to come out of the home.
The crisis negotiation team was called in and attempted to contact the man, but said they received no response.

Officers and a police dog entered the home just before 10 a.m. where they arrested the 42-year-old man who was found hiding in a storage closet.
Traffic in the area was restricted for several hours while police dealt with the situation. Those restrictions have been lifted.
