The Sea-to-Sky Highway has re-opened after a fire prompted a partial closure Sunday afternoon near Daisy Lake, close to Garibaldi, B.C.

BC Wildfire Service dispatched at least four firefighters to join local crews at the scene.

Chief Fire Information Officer Kevin Skrepnek said the blaze might have been caused by a vehicle fire.

Stephanie Reesor was driving on the Highway when she heard a loud noise.

According to Reesor a car crashed into a tree after its wheel exploded.

“I was terrified when I first saw it because I saw how fast [the fire] spread to two trees. It was like, ‘Poof!’ Blowing up in smoke and flames,” said Reesor.
