A grass fire broke out Thursday afternoon on the Penticton Indian Band reserve.

It started at about three o’clock behind the band office on the West Bench.
The PIB fire department, eight forestry fire fighters and a bucketing helicopter are tackling the flames.
The latest word from the band chief is they “pretty much have it under control.”
