A 72-year-old man faces charges after a woman was assaulted at a Seymour Township resort on Tuesday, Northumberland OPP said.
Police said officers were called to the resort in Trent Hills for a reported assault with a weapon and found a seriously injured woman. She was rushed to the hospital.

Officers arrested a man at the scene. Police say he was also treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Terrance George Elsom is charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault. Police say he appeared in court Wednesday, Aug. 30, and remains in custody.
