A TV biopic will chronicle the short life and tragic death of Bobbi Kristina Brown.
Airing on U.S. cable channel TV One, Bobbi Kristina focuses on the daughter of Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston, who passed away in August 2015 at age 22 following several months on life support, after being found face down in a bathtub full of water in late January.
In a new promo for the upcoming made-for-TV movie, Joy Rovaris (Stuck in the Middle) stars as Bobbi Kristina, with her aunt, Pat Houston, portrayed by Vivica A. Fox (Sharnado 2).
Bobbi Kristina’s parents are played by Real Housewives of Atlanta star Demetria McKinney, playing Houston, and Hassan Johnson (The Wire) as Bobby Brown.
Much of the drama revolves around Bobbi Kristina’s complicated relationship with her mother, who struggled with the pressures of her superstardom and the substance abuse that ultimately led to her her 2012 death.
Yet it’s Bobbi Kristina’s relationship with boyfriend Nick Gordon (played by Nadji Jeter) that takes centre stage (last year, a judge found Gordon liable for Bobbi Kristina’s death, ordering him to pay $36 million to her estate in a wrongful death suit filed against him).

In the promo, Bobbi Kristina’s aunt warns her niece about Gordon. “He’s a troubled young man,” she says.
“He’s the single best thing that’s happened to me since my mom,” Bobbi Kristina fires back angrily.
Bobbi Kristina premieres on Sunday, Oct. 8.
