Peterborough police lay charges following early Tuesday home invasion

Peterborough police have charged Christian Emerson Cripps with several counts following an alleged home invasion on Chamberlain Street Tuesday.

The 19-year-old is charged with robbery with a weapon, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Police say a knife-wielding man got into a violent altercation with a resident at the home at about 1:10 a.m.

The resident, a man in his 30s, was taken to the hospital for his injuries. Police say he’s since been released.

Investigators are describing the robbery as a, “targeted incident.”

Cripps appeared in court Tuesday and remains in custody.
