A mother and daughter who are both members of the Calgary Police Service (CPS) worked their last shift together on Monday.
Const. Renata Cattoni is retiring from the force after over 40 years of service.
Cattoni worked primarily as a patrol officer in most of the districts around Calgary and has also worked with their Major Events and Emergency Management Unit.
Her daughter Const. Amanda Maodus joined the CPS almost four years ago and has worked as a patrol officer since.
According to a Facebook post from CPS, Cattoni said one of her best memories was presenting her daughter with her badge during her graduation ceremony.
“There are a lot of ups and downs in this job, but if I had the opportunity I would do it all over again in a heartbeat,” Cattoni said.
“I have loved this job and I am lucky to have been able to share these experiences with my daughter.”
Maodus was influenced to join the CPS not just because of her officer mother, but also her father who worked for the service for 30 years before retiring.
