Some Calgary flyers are feeling the brunt of Hurricane Harvey, which is bearing down on the Texas coast.
Flights have been cancelled from YYC Calgary International Airport to Houston Airport (IAH) by Air Canada, WestJet and United Airlines Friday.

Some flights from the Texas city to Calgary were cancelled, delayed or rerouted.
Passengers who arrived at the Calgary airport from Houston Friday said the community is hunkering down.
“The office I work in in Houston, they were shutting down today,” said Calgarian Darcy Millard.
“There was nobody in at work, so a bunch of us switched our flights to get home to Canada.”

Houston resident Noel Lopez said a lot of gas stations were full and people were panicking to get water from grocery stores.
“The situation was kind of like the calm before the storm; it’s kind of eerie,” he said. “Kind of started to look like a ghost town.”
Air Canada and WestJet have both issued travel advisories for passengers flying to Houston and other Texas cities.
Air Canada is revising its ticketing policy and passengers can change their bookings without penalty.
WestJet says it is also waiving any penalties for flyers who wish to alter their travel plans to Houston.
