The victim of a chain reaction motorcycle crash on Highway 401 has been identified.
It was just before 5:30 p.m. Friday when 64-year-old Sandra Mione-Kent’s motorcycle struck the back of a Toyota that was stopped in the middle lane on Highway 401 westbound in Ingersoll.
Mione-Kent was thrown from her motorcycle. She was taken to hospital where she was later pronounced dead. She’s from the Niagara-area town of Beamsville.
The initial crash caused a chain reaction, where three other vehicles stopped ahead of the Toyota were rear-ended. Those drivers suffered minor injuries.
The westbound lanes of Highway 401 between Folden’s Line and Plank Line were closed until 11:00 p.m. Friday.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
