City scrambles to fix misspelled street sign

A spelling error had the City of Regina scrambling to change a street sign.

The spelling mistake was posted on the City of Regina’s Facebook page bringing to attention that they had spelt Elphinstone Street ‘Elphinestone St.’ (adding an extra ‘E’) at the intersection of Elphinstone Street and Avonhurst Drive.

The City of Regina issues the statement below regarding the street sign:

The City of Regina thanks residents for bringing the incorrect spelled sign to our attention. Our crews are working on fixing this. Despite our best efforts mistakes happen.

The city was quick to install new street signs on Monday to correct the mistake.
