Aurora man charged in fatal motorcycle collision in Toronto

A 39-year-old Aurora man has been charged following a collision that claimed the life of a female motorcyclist near the Evergreen Brickworks last month.

Police say on the evening of July 7,  the driver of a Honda Accord headed northbound on the Bayview Avenue Extension, near Beltline Trail, attempted to make a U-turn and collided with two northbound motorcyclists.

A woman, 35, was transported to hospital and later pronounced dead. The other rider, a 46-year-old man, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Kugatheesh Rasaratnam has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death. He is expected in court on Oct. 5.
