Residents were evacuated from about 20 homes Tuesday afternoon in the northwest Calgary neighbourhood of Bowness.
Calgary Fire Department (CFD) spokesperson Carol Henke said the affected homes were in the 5800 block of Bow Crescent N.W.
She said a gas line was damaged during an excavation of some kind.
ATCO was on scene working to repair the line as of 1 p.m. Henke said residents were allowed back in and the scene had been cleared as of 2:45 p.m.
