WINNIPEG — Early morning on July 31, severe thunderstorm activity hit northern Manitoba. Recorded video showed what appeared to be a tornado.
Peggy Lathlin from Opaskwayak Cree Nation took this video at approximately 1 a.m. Monday morning of what appeared to be a tornado touching down north of The Pas, Man. and posted it to Facebook.
Environment Canada cannot confirm if this is a tornado as it cannot be seen touching the ground. There have also been no reports of damage in the area. Environment Canada currently believes this is a shelf cloud.
