Assiniboine Credit Union is looking to sell the building because Neechi is behind on mortgage payments.

“We know the social impact Neechi can have. We believe in the need for a food store in the North End,” said Assiniboine Credit Union Executive VP Jennifer Mullen-Berube in a release. “We hope that the service can continue in some other way in the future, in the meantime we are actively looking for offers on the building.”

The credit union will now have to hire a realtor and look to sell the building that way, but there’s no word when that might happen.
