A 22-year-old Peterborough man is facing several charges including resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer following an incident outside a Sherbrooke Street store.
At approximately 10:30 a.m. on July 10, police say a man in his 30s was approached on his way into a Sherbrooke Street store. Another man allegedly demanded the man make a purchase for him. He refused and was reportedly hit several times in the face.
A pedestrian in the area called police. The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics.
Police arrested a 22-year-old man about a half-hour later.
Jack Robert Monine of no fixed address is charged with assaulting a peace officer, resisting a peace officer, assault, uttering threats, and breaking probation. He was held in custody.
