Abbotsford homicide victim identified

IHIT is investigating the death of Clarence Crothers. IHIT

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is looking into the death of a 62-year-old Abbotsford man.

Police arrived at an apartment in the 33000-block of Baum Street on Tuesday and found the body of a man who had suffered injuries consistent with homicide.

The victim has been identified as 62-year-old Clarence John Crothers.

Crothers, who is from Abbotsford, was last heard from on Monday night.

“It remains early in the investigation, and police are working tirelessly to determine the motive for this tragic death.” Cpl. Meghan Foster of IHIT said. “Mr. Crothers was not known to police, and a priority of our investigation is to speak with anyone who knew him.”
