Calgary police have laid charges in the death of a man whose body was found in an alley in the community of Dover Glen last year.
Calvin Brooker’s body was found by police in the 2700 block of 41A Avenue S.E. at around 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016.
At the time, police said it appeared Brooker, 57, was killed in his home and his body was then moved to the alley.
On Tuesday, police announced 33-year-old Dennis Jan Sorge of Terrace, B.C., was charged with second-degree murder in Brooker’s death.
Police believe Brooker and Sorge were known to each other and that Brooker’s death occurred after an altercation inside the home.
Brooker’s death was Calgary’s 16th homicide of 2016.
