A massive fire that broke out at OK Tire in Abbotsford on South Fraser Way and Ware Street is being investigated for possible arson, Abbotsford Police say.
Witnesses saw a male in dark clothing running from the scene moments before the flames appeared. The APD’s Major Crimes Unit is working with fire investigators to find any video evidence and additional witnesses.
Firefighters responded before 4:30 a.m. Saturday to the incident, where heavy black smoke plumes filled the sky. The building was entirely engulfed in flames by the time crews arrived.
Gallons of water were used to douse the remaining flames, closing the intersection in all four directions. South Fraser Way was opened later in the morning, but Ware Street remained closed into the afternoon as crews continued to investigate.
