Police investigating after alleged luring attempt of 13-year-old girl in Toronto’s west end

Toronto police are searching for a man who they allege tried to lure a young girl in south Etobicoke Thursday morning.

Police said a 13-year-old girl was alone on the corner of Brown’s Line and Burlingame Road, near Horner Avenue, waiting for somebody when they say she was approached by a man driving a Honda CR-V.

Officers said the man, who they described as middle-aged, solicited the girl’s attention by gesturing toward the passenger seat before telling her that she could join him in the car.

Police said the girl’s refusal seemed to startle the man, who then promptly drove away.
