The City of Burlington hopes to complete repairs by the end of the day on Friday along the Lake Ontario shoreline.

A section of shoreline, and the Waterfront Trail at Beachway Park, is among the areas hardest hit by erosion due to high water levels and wave action.

The repairs started earlier this week and a section of pathway across from Joseph Brant Hospital is closed while the work is completed.

It is one of several areas along the Lake Ontario shoreline and along the edge of Hamilton’s west harbour to be affected by weeks of heavy rain and high winds this spring.

There’s no timeline for reopening Hamilton’s waterfront trail, between Princess Point and Bayfront Park, which is also closed due to erosion.
