Police charge Hamilton senior with attempted abduction

Hamilton police have arrested a 71-year-old man following calls about suspicious circumstances in the area of King Street East and Wentworth.

Police say an investigation revealed that a 12-year-old female was invited to enter a residence for singing lessons on May 3, and to have her picture taken.

On May 24, a five-year-old is said to have entered the same residence without the permission or knowledge of her parents.

Police have charged Giovanni Corda with the attempted abduction of a person under 14 years of age.

The Hamilton Police Service Victims of Crime Unit continues to investigate.
