Tuesday, May 30 – A world-renowned cancer expert is coming to Edmonton to speak at the Citadel Theatre on Thursday. Dr. Simon Sutcliffe is the president of the Two Worlds Cancer Collaboration Foundation, the former CEO of the BC Cancer Agency and has dedicated the majority of his life to curing cancer. At 9:20, David Eggen, Alberta’s Education Minister will talk about some of the more controversial aspects of the ongoing curriculum review. Next, Ian McGugan, the senior editor of the Globe and Mail’s Report on Business talks about his latest opinion piece, “Face it, Canada — You’re a Real Estate Addict.” Then, just after 10, Vaughn Palmer, the Vancouver Sun’s Provincial Affairs columnist talks about the BC NDP and the BC Green Party planning to come together to form a minority government, therefore giving Christy Clark and the Liberals the boot. At 11, Ellen Goddard, a food economist at the University of Alberta says this new push for “antibiotic-free” meat isn’t all that great for the animal or the consumer.
