Alberta RCMP look for man who approached little girl: ‘We are taking you for a ride’

Strathcona County RCMP are investigating an incident where an eight-year-old girl was allegedly approached by a male in a truck on Thursday in Sherwood Park.

Police say the child was playing in her front yard in Clarkdale Meadows when she was approached by a truck full of people. RCMP say a man got out of the truck and said: “Come here. We are taking you for a ride.”

The child ran to the residence and the man got back into the truck and drove away.

RCMP are looking for the occupants of the vehicle.

The driver is described as a man with curly hair. The front-seat passenger is described as a male, 16 to 17 years old, with long blonde hair and an earring in his left ear. Police say the passenger was wearing black jeans and a T-shirt with a skull and crossbones on it.

Descriptions for the two people in the back seat are not available.

Police are also looking for a blue, four-door truck with grey and black rims.
