A 21-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder in connection to a serious assault in the West End.
On Tuesday at 2:35 a.m., police responded to a report of a woman who was assaulted in the 900 block of Dominion Street.
Before officers arrive, a passerby attempted to help but was chased off, police said.

The suspect, who has a knife, then stole the passerby’s vehicle.
The 22-year-old woman was taken to hospital in critical and unstable condition. She has since been upgraded to stable condition.

The suspect was arrested by RCMP on Highway 10 near the United Stated border.
Junior Sesay, 21, has been charged with attempted murder, robbery and break and enter.
He remains in custody.
