The Regional District of Central Okanagan is advising residents using the Star Place Water System to boil tap water that will be ingested because of increased turbidity.

The latest health and medical news emailed to you every Sunday.

The warning affects eight properties in the Trepanier Road area near the Okanagan Connector.

“All water intended for drinking, washing fruit and vegetables, making beverages, ice or brushing teeth should be boiled for at least one minute or customers should use a safe alternative to water from the tap such as bottled or distilled water,” says district spokesperson Bruce Smith.

Smith says tests have not found any bacteria and the health risk is considered moderate.
