The Montreal Impact has launched a stadium upgrade effort in a bid to offer fans more in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
The team took the media through new concession areas at the stadium and new high-end seats that it hopes will offer a better fan experience.
But fans are getting impatient that the team is five games into the season without having a single victory.
“The team needs to win this game,” said Leonel Paulo, who runs Bar le Frappé, a popular Impact hangout. “It needs another Drogba.”
The team has seen near-wins turn into heart-wrenching draws in the final minutes in at least two games.
The Impact squares off against Atlanta on Saturday.
